Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer and the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, have joined forces to star in a touching short video that celebrates the ball boys and girls of Wimbledon. The video pays tribute to the tireless work of these young volunteers who ensure the smooth running of the world’s most famous tennis tournament. The footage shows the ballboys and girls in action, while Federer also makes a surprise appearance, offering words of encouragement to the young volunteers.

During the shooting of the video, Roger and Kate learn a few moves from the ball kids on how they do their job so well. And amidst all that, Princess Kate hit a winning shot that left the tennis legend beyond impressed.

Roger Federer impressed by Princess Kate’s winning shot in the video

Roger Federer and Princess Kate shared screen time for the first time to create a video about the ball kids. These ball kids play a huge role in making sure the Wimbledon tournament goes well.

At the beginning of the video, Roger offers Kate a chance to hit a few shots on the court. He asked her, “Do you want to start or should I?” Roger starts serving, and during the video, Kate hit a forehand winner.

To this, Roger responded, “I think it was on the line. Amazing”. He was quite impressed by the way Kate handled the shot that hit the line, making Roger lose a point so early in the game. The Swiss tennis star definitely did not see that one coming from Princess Kate.

Immediately after playing a few points, the ball kids started showing off their skills as well. It certainly made Federer reminisce about his days as a ball boy.

Ball kids teach Federer how to do a ball change and more of what they do

After the cute exchange, Roger was seen learning a few things from the ball boys and girls. They were teaching him and Kate how to do a ball change. They can be seen showing how they move their arms in order to throw the ball correctly without interrupting the flow of the match.

In the video, Wimbledon ball girl Mollie also shows Kate how she is not allowed to catch the ball if it goes off the court and let it hit the back first and then catch it. Roger added to the same that they are allowed to catch the ball if it comes at them in the Australian Open but not in Wimbledon.
