While he justified his mixed doubles participation with a single word, the French Open press had similar thoughts about his upcoming match rival, Carlos Alcaraz.

In a recent press conference after the massive win over Felix Auger Aliassime, Carlos Alcaraz was seen running out of words in response to a personal question. On being asked if he would like to play “mixed doubles for love” just like his quarter-final rival Stefanos Tsitsipas is, the Spaniard couldn’t think of anything but a cheeky response.

“Well, if I had a girlfriend and she asked be to play doubles with her… (big smile) … we would have to evaluate a lot of things,” Alcaraz responded per journalist Jose Morgado, blushing over the thought of navigating the tour with a tennis-playing girlfriend.

This response came just hours after Stefanos Tsitsipas unleashed true levels of romanticism on tour. The Greek ATP star and his Spanish girlfriend Paula Badosa went through a bit of a rough patch when they announced their split in May. Just a few weeks later, the two had made up their differences and not only were they back together, they decided to play doubles at the ongoing Grand Slam as well!

All Tsitsipas had to say for it was, “Paris holds a special place for me and Paula, that’s where we had our first date right before Roland-Garros last year, our anniversary occurs here, so for us it was a no-brainer to play our first mixed doubles in Roland-Garros.”

While Carlos Alcaraz has never given signs of being involved in a relationship, just the thought of sharing the court with her beloved made him blush in front of the press. According to the reports registered so far, the Spaniard has always claimed to share love with no partner.
