Some dreams do come true, like the one where Serena Williams and Roger Federer played against each other. Obviously, it was not a match like ‘Battle of the Sexes’, as this was doubles encounter. But this was enough for tennis enthusiasts to remember for the rest of their lives. And the fun part about the match between the legend was that it also had an element of banter, though unintentional. The two GOATs who changed the face of the sport had one thing that they could not decide upon.

After their 2019 Hopman Cup doubles match against each other, the two shared a moment of contention. And the tennis fans were quick to pick it up even if it was nothing serious.

Serena Williams and Roger Federer were once caught in a banter after a match 

Watching the two faced each other on the opposite side of the court was a dream come true moment for every tennis enthusiast. And this happened back in the 2019 Hopman Cup. But after Roger Federer defeated Serena Williams in the doubles match on New Year’s Day, there was a point of contention.

After the match, the two stars of the show gave an on-court interview and also clicked a selfie together. Immediately after this pleasant exchange, Federer gave one of his most-coveted Wilson racquets to Williams.

Now, that would have made any fan brim with joy. However, it was not the case with Williams. She did not take it. He stated,

Now, this was a shocker for a lot of tennis enthusiasts. Nonetheless, witnessing the two players together on the court was a delight for everyone.

Obviously, them playing against each other was one of the greatest moments in tennis history. However, the two had other wishes as well. Both Roger Federer and Serena Williams had expressed their desire to play mixed doubles match together as a team. Williams thought it would have been a “dreamy” occasion.
