Serena is currently in Cincinnati to participate in the Western and Southern Open. However, she had a disastrous outing against Emma Raducanu, losing in straight sets in just over an hour. During the match, Serena had her family and friends in the stadium to support her.

The camera spotted Grigor Dimitrov seated alongside Serena’s daughter, Olympia, to cheer the American legend in her match against Raducanu. Dimitrov had an adorable moment with the four-year-old as they applauded every point that Serena won.

Also present in the stadium was the four-time Grand Slam champion, Naomi Osaka.

Dimitrov didn’t have a great campaign in this year’s Western and Southern Open. He lost out to Denis Shapovalov of Canada in the opening round of the tournament. In a match lasting just under an hour and a half, Shapovalov defeated Dimitrov in straight sets 7-6(4) 6-3.

Serena’s campaign in Cincinnati ends

British tennis star Emma Raducanu produced one of her best displays of the season as she defeated Serena in straight sets 6-4, 6-0. Raducanu started the match brightly and broke Serena’s serve in the first game of the opening set. At 1-4 down, Serena showed glimpses of a comeback, breaking Raducanu’s serve. However, the reigning US Open champion kept her composure to take the first set 6-4.

Subsequently, the second set was a one-sided affair. Serena failed to hold any of her service games in the second set as Raducanu inflicted a bagel on the former World Number 1. It is a timely return to form for Raducanu as she will look to defend her US Open title later this month. Further, she will take on Victoria Azarenka in the second round in Cincinnati.
