Nick Kyrgios is finally proving his critics wrong. An immensely talented player, the Australian star has often been on the center stage because of controversies on and off the court. On numerous occasions, these controversies have affected his performances. However, he has left these behind and is starting to show why he is highly rated on the tennis circuit.

Earlier this season, he won his maiden Grand Slam title, albeit in doubles. He teamed up with his compatriot, Thanasi Kokkinakis, to lift the Australian Open doubles trophy. Subsequently, he had a consistent run in singles across the tournaments this year. Further, in the recently concluded Wimbledon Championships, he reached his first Grand Slam singles final, losing against Novak Djokovic. Recently, Emma Raducanu heaped praise on Kyrgios.

Emma Raducanu talks about Nick Kyrgios

During an interview for ES Magazine, the British tennis star talked about her friendship with Kyrgios. She said, “To me, he’s always been very kind and generous.”

Further, Raducanu went on to add, “He was supporting me after Wimbledon last year, before the US Open, so the way he’s been with me, yeah, he’s been really nice. People definitely want to watch Nick.”

While Kyrgios reached the finals at Wimbledon, Raducanu lost in the second round against France’s Caroline Garcia.

Raducanu hires a Russian coach

Ahead of the US Open swing, the 19-year-old has made changes to her coaching staff. She has hired the Russian coach, Dmitry Tursunov, for her team. The latter had earlier worked with world number two, Anett Kontaveit.
