In recent times, tennis players and coaches have shown similar fondness towards music concerts. For instance, Casper Ruud attended multiple concerts of The Weeknd a few weeks ago. Similarly, Elina Svitolina channeled her inner fangirl for Harry Styles as she missed his concerts on tour. Now, another famous tennis coach has turned up in similar scenes. Known for his exploits with Andre Agassi, the current consultant of Coco Gauff‘s team followed in Ruud and Svitolina’s footsteps as he attended a legendary rock band’s music concert.
In case you are still wondering, the famous coach in question is Brad Gilbert. He played a vital role in converting Agassi’s natural talent into an all-time great career. Six of Agassi’s eight major titles came under his guidance. In his short tenure with Gauff as well, he has already led her to a WTA 500 title. But how much do you know about his musical interests?

While discussing famous heavy metal bands, Metallica is the first name that pops up in our minds. Formed in 1981, the Los Angeles-based heavy metal band runs strong even after 42 years of existence. Their recent concert in Montreal was sold out, just like most of their other shows.
A certain Brad Gilbert was present in the jam-packed crowd, seated to witness the musical greats. He took to his Twitter to reveal his presence at the concert. The 62-year-old posted a picture from the stadium and added a caption that read, “about to watch @Metallica take the stage in montréal“.

A day to forget for Gauff in Montreal
Gauff locked horns with her close friend and doubles partner Jessica Pegula in the quarter-finals of Montreal. She entered the match as the favorite on the back of twelve consecutive set wins. However, things did not turn out as expected for her as Pegula edged past in a tight three-setter. It was a devastating loss for the 19-year-old, who has been playing some of her best tennis recently.

To add to Gauff’s misery, Pegula opted out of their doubles quarter-finals as she needed time to regroup for her singles semi-final clash against Iga Swiatek. As the defending champions in the Canadian Open, the pair is set to lose 710 ranking points because of the withdrawal.
