‘How Would You Know What Women Go Through?’- Serena Williams’ Former Coach Fires Back at ATP Star Stefanos Tsitsipas’ Hot-Take on Feminism

Stefanos Tsitsipas is walking on thin ice, with both Twitteratis and the former coach of Serena Williams, after he criticized modern feminism on Twitter. His controversial stance against feminism has garnered a lot of criticism from fans. Rennae Stubbs, the former coach of Serena Williams for the 2022 US Open and the former world no.1 in doubles, was quick to react to Tsitsipas on Twitter. She called him out and stood by all the other women who were equally enraged at the Greek.
The Greek ATP star is known for his active presence on social media, especially Twitter. He often provides a quirky outlook on life, not necessarily from the perspective of a tennis player, but the general human experience. However, this time, he might’ve bitten off more than he can chew.

Stefanos Tsitsipas’ comment on modern feminism doesn’t sit well with Rennae Stubbs
After Tsitsipas posted a tweet that challenged the idea of modern feminism, Twitter went crazy, and Rennae Stubbs joined scores of others to criticize the Greek star’s take on a subject that is close to the heart of many women.
In my opinion everyone is and should be equal to everyone. No matter your background, gender, religion, ethnicity or race.
Modern feminism has swerved from gender equality into a cult of outrage that seeks to disparage men.
How is that fair?
— Stefanos Tsitsipas (@steftsitsipas) December 1, 2022
The first half of Tsitsipas’ post might have passed as so much as genuine and admirable. However, his opinion on how modern feminism seems to belittle the existence of men and referring to the modern feminist movement as a “cult of outrage” is what got him into trouble.

After fans stormed into Tsitsipas’ comment section, Rennae Stubbs decided to speak up too.
Ah excuse me!? How would you know what women go through on a daily basis!? Would u like to have a conversation with a Iranian woman right now!? Dude, u write some crazy stuff on Twitter but this one takes the cake!! Do u understand how unequal women STILL have it in this world?
— Rennae Stubbs OLY (@rennaestubbs) December 1, 2022
Stubbs, the renowned American activist, feminist, and former tennis player, has never been shy in expressing her opinions upfront. It wasn’t any different this time. Bringing in the topic of Iranian women, Rennae has hinted at the recent miserable conditions that women have to endure under the conservative regime of the country. She also did not forget to remind Tsitsipas of his previous Twitter posts, which were heavily criticized by the public.

Stefanos’ tweet from back in 2019
In a similarly controversial post from 2019, the 20-year-old Tsitsipas expressed his anger and frustration at the parking skills of a Greek woman. Soon after, the tweet went viral with many blasting Stefanos in the comments. The Greek tennis star was wise to take the post down, but it was too late.
Media houses and fans had already documented and retweeted it. Stefanos’ social media team did take down the retweets too, but received nothing but another round of earfuls from tennis fans on Twitter.
