Romanian tennis player Simona Halep was once the most dominant player on the tour. She would win tournaments and beat the top players in the game with sheer comfort. 

However, things have not been the same for Halep lately. A string of unfortunate results along with injuries has been a sad occurrence in her journey. The last time she reached a semifinal of a Major was at the Australian Open 2020.

Romanian legend reflects on Simona Halep 

Recently, former Romanian great Ilie Nastase reflected on the hurdles in Simona‘s path. He saw her compete at the Indian Wells this past week and was gutted to see his compatriot go down, especially after she had a good shot during the match. However, he did acknowledge that she was the top-ranked player at one point.
