Former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka has been one of the leading forces in the game. At a young age, the stakes riding on the 24-year-old player are higher than most of the top athletes around. 

Over the years, the popularity of the Japanese star has only risen. There are a number of players from the ATP and WTA circuit who hold the 4-time Major winner in high regard.

Naomi Osaka responds to an interesting question 

Not long ago, Osaka was asked if she would be open to competing in the mixed doubles events. She was further questioned about the possibility of her teaming up with the Australian talent Nick Kyrgios.

Naomi was open to the idea and stated a few words. She said, “If he wants to attempt to carry us, I’ll consider it. But I haven’t played doubles in years and I’m not quite great at it. I know he just won the Australian Open doubles title. Yeah, if he wants to do everything.”

Speaking about performances lately, Osaka was unable to defend her title at the Australian Open this year. On the other hand, Nick was handed a tough draw and ended up losing to Daniil Medvedev.

Nick Kyrgios has begun 2022 on a great note 

However, he won the men’s doubles title at the Australian Open, which was his first taste of success at the Grand Slam tournaments. He partnered with fellow compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Coming to the Japanese star, things have not been going as per the plan. Reflecting on last season, after winning the Australian Open, things have been not moving in favor of Naomi as far as her performances on the court are concerned.
