During an interview, Swiatek talked about her experience of playing alongside her idol. She said, “Once in a lifetime experience. Well, Rafa is great. I wouldn’t even imagine as a kid, like, playing next to him and being in the same team.”

The Polish star hasn’t been in the best of form since her title-winning run at the French Open. She had third-round exits at the recently concluded hard court tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati.

Further, a difficult draw at this year’s US Open hasn’t helped her cause either. Swiatek will take on Jasmine Paolini of Italy in the first round of the tournament. Subsequently, a potential clash against the former US Open champion, Sloane Stephens, will await the Pole in the second round.
