Iga Swiatek proved her worth once again by making it to the semi-finals in Madrid. Defeating Beatriz Haddad Maia in the quarter-finals, the tennis star showed consistency in dominance by turning the tables in the second round. However, despite her good form, the fact that she was seen hitting in the same colors became a reason for the disappointment of the fans.

It has been more than a year since Iga Swiatek signed a deal with Roger Federer‘s sportswear brand On-Running. Soon after the tennis star secured a position in the semi-finals of the Madrid Open, the official X handle of the company proudly shared a post to congratulate her for the win. While it was expected that the fans would add to the cheers, they came forward to lash out at the company’s lack of creativity instead.

The fans were unhappy because Switek can be seen playing in the same colors most of the time. “When is Iga getting a new kit?” commented a fan with a raised eyebrow.

Another fan, urging Roger Federer’s brand to give their best-in-class collaboration a new outfit, wrote, “Give the girl another kit, come ON guys!” with clever wordplay on the company’s name.

A fan, pointing to the fact that it is disrespectful for her position as the world no.1, wrote, “I never seen someone wear the same kits for 5 months +she is #1 I mean this is disaster.”

“When Iga will get individual, unique clothe?” a fan asked. Continuing her comment to lash out at the Swiss tennis maestro, she added, “With all respect to aspired young male tennis players.”

With these and several other comments on a similar note, the fans made it clear that they have started to get frustrated seeing their favorite tennis star in the same sort of uniform. As the followers raise their voices, it still remains to be seen if their call will be heard in the events ahead. Meanwhile, the Polish star is working on the perfect tennis shoes with the brand.

Iga Swiatek expecting the ‘perfect’ shoe design from ON

WTA star Iga Swiatek has always been optimistic about her collaboration with ON Running. Throughout her journey as a part of Roger Federer’s sportswear brand, the tennis star has consistently expressed pride, along with expecting the best designs.

Back in 2023, Swiatek came forward to announce that the brand is set to come up with the best-in-class work for her. “So with On, we’re basically doing the shoe that is going to be kind of perfect for my movements and my style of running,” Swiatek said, expecting the best from On Running.

“We are really, really close, but there are still some things that I would like to change,” she added, mentioning the fact that there’s still time for the design to be launched. While the released units seemed quite ordinary to the fans, they have started to be disappointed with the lack of creativity.
