‘It’s for Such a Good Cause’ – Eugenie Bouchard Urges Fans to Make Their Presence Felt at the Madisen’s Match as the Likes of Tommy Paul, Jennifer Brady Set to Be in Action

Eugenie Bouchard has had a volatile tennis career filled with ups and downs. Being on the tour for over twelve years now, she has struggled for consistency throughout her career. A promising prospect, she emerged onto the scenes when she lifted the 2011 Wimbledon title in girls’ doubles. It has been her most memorable tournament as she followed it up with winning the title there again in the next year, this time in both girls’ singles and doubles.

Subsequently, she reached the Wimbledon finals in 2014 in women’s singles, losing out to Petra Kvitova in the summit clash. She has won a couple of titles on the WTA circuit, one each in singles and doubles. The Canadian has been troubled by injuries lately. Recently, she posted a story on Instagram which caught people’s eyes.

Eugenie Bouchard appeals to the fans

The 28-year-old took to Instagram and posted a story urging fans to attend the Madisen’s Match. “Hey everyone, I’m so excited to be a part of Madisen’s Match, a charity event this coming Sunday in Naples, Florida. It’s for such a good cause, so I hope to see everyone out there and excited to play a set and continue my profession towards getting back on tour,” Bouchard said.

The charity event will include the likes of Tommy Paul, Reilly Opelka, Mike and Bob Bryan, Jennifer Brady, Alison Riske in action along with Bouchard. It is the biggest tennis event in South-West Florida. The event will be held on 19th and 20th March 2022.

Eugenie Bouchard will be in action after a long time. She last played a competitive match in March last year. It was the Abierto GNP Seguros tournament in Monterrey, Mexico. She had lost in the opening round against Lin Zhu. Subsequently, she suffered a torn subscapularis in her right shoulder. She had to undergo surgery in June, which ruled her out of the remainder of 2021.

Her lengthy absence from the tour has significantly affected her rankings. She has dropped out of the top-1000 in the world and is ranked 1252 in women’s singles. She would be hoping to get back to her best soon and make a strong comeback
