When it comes to pickleball there is no bigger rivalry than Andre Agassi and John McEnroe. Recently, 64-year-old John McEnroe drew a remark towards his 53-year-old rival. After a successful inaugural season of Pickleball Slam in which ESPN reportedly drew 669,000 viewers, the paddle sport returns with season 2 next year. Four of the best tennis players will swap their racket with paddles to showcase a revisit to their intense rivalry.

The 7 times Grand Slam singles winner John McEnroe has recently shared his impression on Pickleball Slam 2 which has grabbed a lot of attention. McEnroe was in his true element while calling Andre Agassi ‘Mr. and Mrs. Graf.’ He added, ‘Folks, you still have a chance to be there live in-person to see me kick that guy Andre Agassi’s a** again.’

Some of the biggest names of the racket sport are set to kickstart their campaign for the Pickleball Slam 2 on February 4 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The event is scheduled at 8:30 pm ET and it will feature a lip-smacking match-up between the most famous tennis couple Andre Agassi & Steffi Graf vs John McEnroe & Maria Sharapova. Who will take home the whopping $1 M prize money? 

After the smack from Mac, it’ll be interesting to see what Andre Agassi comes up with in reply. A perfect build-up? Perhaps a Big Yes.

Although both of them level each other at the H2H in the racket sport. But when it comes to paddling, Agassi got the upper hand against McEnroe last season. In the inaugural season, Andre Agassi and Roddick defeated John McEnroe and Michael Chang by a 3-1 margin. McEnroe would now look to give it back to his rival from Las Vegas.

Earlier the New Yorker had called Agassi ‘a chump’ and now just 50 days before the mega event at Hollywood, he comes with the new remark. The duo first faced each other in 1986 at Stratton Mountain where McEnroe got the upper hand. Andre Agassi gave it back at their next match in Los Angeles.
