When tennis players are on the court, no one is as serious as them. However, off the court, they have their own antics, which make their personality unique. Frances Tiafoe is one person who is well-known for his hilarious persona when he is not in professional mode. Now in town for the Ultimate Tennis Showdown, Tiafoe, along with Ben Shelton, showed off his best Californian accent.
While this was a small display of his antics, Tiafoe has ongoing banter with American sensation Coco Gauff. They showed signs of their banter during the French Open when they were training together.

Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton bust out mimicry skills
Along with the regular ATP Tour, several players also participate in the Ultimate Tennis Showdown or UTS. The tournament features a different format from normal tennis and has a different point format as well. Gael Monfils, Taylor Fritz, and Reilly Opelka are some of the players who will feature in the event.
Frances Tiafoe, Ben Shelton, Diego Schwartzman, and Benoit Paire are also players who will compete for their chance at glory. Before the championship begins, the players show off their best mimicry skills as they give their best Californian impression.
The Maryland native Tiafoe spoke in a nasal voice and said, “Hey, guys. Are you gonna go later to the villa or anything like that? Or are we gonna get our Acai bowls and green machines?” After him, Ben Shelton chose to go for a laid-back voice as he spoke, “I gotta do the girl, either that or the super laid-back guy. Best Californian impression, ‘What’s up dude? How you doin’?’“

While the two lit up this tournament, they aren’t the only American stars to have such a personality. Tiafoe showed off his comic side with his impression. The ATP rank 10, and the WTA number 7 trained together during the Roland Garros.

The tennis scene can get rather lonely, as many players have testified. However, players linking up in such a manner can certainly be helpful for the issue. Gauff and Tiafoe are a good sign of such improvement. With more developments like this, players can have an improved mental health when on tour.
