Sports can get very cruel at times. Ask Grigor Dimitrov, who has been playing on the ATP Tour since 2008. Despite boasting enormous talent, the Bulgarian tennis star’s career has been affected by injuries, resulting in constant peaks and troughs. Although he has been putting on a good show at the ongoing Miami Open, Dimitrov suffered fan wrath for being incosistent. But Serena Williams’ former coach, Rennae Stubbs, lent a hand with a shared response to the tennis community.

Rennae Stubbs hits back at a fan after Grigor Dimitrov criticism

Hours ago, Stubbs took to Twitter to praise Dimitrov’s one-handed backhand. However, reacting to it, one fan questioned Dimitrov’s consistency, saying, “Why he doesn’t play like this more consistently? He barely beat Hubi, he’ll probably lose to Zverev .. he’s a nice guy and a beautiful shotmaker when he plays like this!”

Stubbs took note of that comment and took a sly dig at the fan, “Well do u know how hard it is to be a great tennis player every single day and beat the best players in the world everyday? No!? Ok then.” The end of the X post had a “shh” as well as a mouth-zipping emoji, clearly indicating what Stubbs wanted the fan to do.

Dimitrov has reached as high as Number 3 in the world but has failed to impress on the sport’s biggest stage, the Grand Slams. He is yet to reach a major final and has had some early exits in big tournaments lately. However, the Miami Open has presented him with a chance of resurgence. Additionally, he was compared to Roger Federer by the fans after showing his best touch.
