The battle between Zverev and Dimitrov was intense. However, the 32-year-old emerged victorious against Zverev in the Miami Open semi-final nail-biter. The final score was 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-4, setting Dimitrov up for a final clash against Jannik Sinner. With this win the Bulgarian star broke his seven-match losing streak against the German star. Back in 2014, the world no. 9 managed to garner his first win against the current fourth seed. While Zverev was only 17 years old at the time, Dimitrov was at the peak of his form.

At one end, Dimitrov’s victory over Zverev was thrilling, stealing the show was Serena Williams at the other. Surprisingly, this wasn’t the first time Williams and Dimitrov shared such friendship moments.

A few years ago, it was rumored that Serena and Dimitrov dated each other. But none of them confirmed the rumors. However, the two tennis stars seem to share a bond more than their respective competitions in professional tennis. In 2021, Williams took Olympia to watch Dimitrov’s match against Christian Garin at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown. During this match, Williams was asked about Dimitrov’s performance.

To which the former World No.1 commented, “Well, we’re thinking about changing Dimitrov’s game to the G-force. We are excited to see, you go out there, and crush it.” Serena Williams didn’t stop there and added her great humor while cheering for Dimitrov at the UTS.
