The latest edition of the Miami Open is currently underway, with some of the biggest names, including Jannik Sinner and Sloane Stephens, participating in it. However, the tennis community’s excitement to witness these players of caliber has now turned into disappointment due to the weather conditions in the coastal metropolis in the U.S. state of Florida.
Rain showers throughout the day in Miami have caused some lengthy delays and game suspensions at the Hard Rock Stadium. While many initial rounds have already been concluded, some players, like Sinner and Stephens, are yet to complete their respective matches due to the weather. As everyone is now eager to see them play, a recent update might concern the fans.
In upsetting news for the tennis community, the Weather Channel recently issued their 10-day weather forecast for Miami, which shows a chance of rain at 90% with 1 to 2 inches of rain expected. Aside from the heavy rain showers, the storms may contain strong gusty winds, and the National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center has also placed South Florida under a Level 1 risk of severe weather.
