The weather forecast revealed sunny weather with as high as 81F degrees of temperature. The chance of rain is only 6% throughout the day, and the wind would be at 10 to 20 mph. This brought smiles to the faces of various players like Coco Gauff, Ben Shelton, and Iga Swiatek, who can now continue with their matches at the Miami Open.
This came after yesterday’s upsetting news of the 10-day weather forecast for Miami, which revealed rainy weather with gusty winds. As a result, players like Jannik Sinner and Sloane Stephens did not continue with their respective matches. Ben Shelton’s clash against Martin Landaluce was also canceled for the same reason. However, his match will resume today owing to the sunny weather.

Gauff’s disappointment in the hectic schedules of the Miami Open due to the rainy weather
Coco Gauff criticized the organizers at the Miami Open for their unrealistic expectations from the players due to the disruption of the match because of rain. She spoke about the frustration of sitting all day in the venue, hoping that the rain would stop. Furthermore, she believed that, because of the weather forecast, the tournament organizers were providing impractical start times.
“Yeah, I was just waiting around, talked to some folks, played some games, read. It felt like a long wait. I was kind of not sure when to eat. Also, the tournament was giving us unrealistic ‘not before’ times, so that felt a little bit weird, too,” she said.
