For the Ukrainian tennis player, Elina Svitolina, the past few months must have been extremely difficult considering the current conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Despite all that, she found a little happiness, as she celebrated the anniversary of her marriage to long-time boyfriend, Gael Monfils.

Earlier, she took to social media and posted a lovely video and some beautiful pictures to celebrate this joyous occasion.

Notably, Svitolina shared two posts on Instagram: in one post, she shared a video, and in another post, she shared some pictures from their beautiful wedding. In the caption, she wrote, “Happy one year anniversary my mon amour…  My love for you is infinite! Cheers to a lifetime of happiness.“

Apart from that, she also posted many stories on her Instagram as well. Notably, a few weeks ago, she announced another happy news about becoming a mother. Incidentally, both Monfils and Svitolina posted on their Instagram about the happy news.

Monfils and Svitolina have been missing tennis for a while

Earlier in Marche, the Ukrainian tennis player announced a break from professional tennis after suffering from a back issue. Also, it took an emotional toll on her, as she was playing tennis despite the dire situation in her country. Later in May, she announced her pregnancy, which is the reason she has not been on the WTA tour recently. Right now, it’s uncertain when she will return to the tour and play regularly on the tour.

As for Monfils, he has been suffering from a foot injury since May this year. As a result, he missed both the French Open and the Wimbledon Championships. His last tournament was in May, i.e. the Madrid Open. However, he is gradually recovering from his foot injury, and will most probably play at the US Open, which will take place in August.
