22-time Grand Slam champion, Rafael Nadal is truly having one of the best seasons of his career. He has already won the Australian Open and the French Open and is going for his third title at Wimbledon. Many current and former players praised the Spaniard, as 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams is the latest to praise Nadal.

During the recent press conference at Wimbledon, Williams talked about Nadal’s incredible 2022 and her admiration for the great Spaniard.

At the recent pre-tournament press conference, Serena Williams talked about a lot of things. At the end of her interview, a reporter asked her about Nadal’s achievements in 2022. In reply, she gave a really funny answer.

Yeah, he has done a lot in 2022. He’s been busy. I’ve always been a Rafa fan. My dog… I named my dog after him, so. He’s so cute, I miss the little guy. So, obviously, I’m always rooting for Rafa… he’s been really inspiring in everything he has done this year and he has a lot more to do.” the American legend said. 

Notably, in that interview, Serena made it pretty clear that she was here to win her 24th Grand Slam title despite getting a tough draw.

Serena is getting a feel of the Centre Court at the Wimbledon Championships

Although world no.1 Iga Swiatek is going to open the match proceedings on Tuesday at the Centre Court, Serena will most probably play all of her matches on Centre Court as well. That’s why she is currently practicing at the Centre Court, a new tradition Wimbledon has allowed this year.

Earlier, she played doubles with Ons Jabeur in the doubles competition at Eastbourne International. Serena looked like her former self during those two matches as she reached the semi-final with the Tunisian player. However, Jabeur’s unfortunate injury forced her to withdraw from the tournament. At Wimbledon, she was given a pretty tough draw and could potentially face many top players en route to the final.
