Nick Kyrgios and Venus Williams Put Up an Amusing Show at Wimbledon Championships 2021 Doubles R1

It is not very often when fans witness two renowned players uniting to play the mixed doubles in a Grand Slam. However, the same happened at the Wimbledon Championships 2021 as 7-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams paired up with Australian professional tennis player, Nick Kyrgios.

Nick Kyrgios and Venus Williams are facing Austin Krajicek and Sabrina Santamaria in the first round of the Wimbledon Championships 2021. The two won the first set 6-3 but lost the following one 3-6. However, they turned the tables around in the third set and won it 7-5, and thus, conquered the match.

Fans seem overwhelmed by their victory and are giving very pleasant reactions on Twitter. It is after quite some time that a mixed doubles pair is receiving such attention and appreciation on social media.

A fan account by the name of Kin mentioned that the pair has even broken a doubles curse by winning at Wimbledon 2019.

They will next face fourth-seeded Nicole Melichar and Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the second round of the Grand Slam.

Nick Kyrgios will face Felix Auger-Aliassime in the third round of the Wimbledon Championships 2021

Apart from playing the mixed doubles, Kyrgios has enjoyed success even in the singles category at the Wimbledon Championships 2021. He defeated Ugo Humbert in a five-set marathon in the first round and then went on to thrash Gianluca Mager in the second round.

However, the problems will further increase for the Australian player as he will be up against Felix Auger-Aliassime in the third round of the tournament. It was Aliassime only who knocked out Roger Federer from the Halle Open 2021.
