When Maria Sharapova spilled secrets of awkward date with Novak Djokovic

During one of the episodes on the The Rennae Stubbs Tennis podcast, Sharapova was asked if she felt Djokovic could win 24 majors during her first meeting. This reminded the Russian beauty of one of her initial meetings with Djokovic, which ended on an awkward date.

Recalling it, Sharapova said, “We played this mini-exhibition at Indian Wells. I don’t remember what the bet was, but he said if he won the bet, we’re gonna go to dinner. I was like, ‘Okay, fine, whatever, like it’s going to happen.’”

Djokovic eventually won the bet and went on a dinner date with Sharapova. However, the Russian beauty admitted that Djokovic was awkward with her, and even asked for a photo with her.

Despite being rock solid on the court, Sharapova gave a glimpse of how she and Djokovic were soft as a feather in their personal lives. Indeed, a real definition of what true legends are!
