Victoria Azarenka and Gael Monfils have been friends for a long time. Azarenka recently shared an embarrassing story involving the Frenchman. During a fun interaction with WTA in Charleston, she was asked to sing to express her joy in visiting her favorite stops on the tour. She shook her head in disagreement straight away, but she didn’t forget to tell the story when she sang last time. Azarenka revealed, “I sang one time, a Happy Birthday for Gael, who is one of my best friends at the US Open.

She went on to add that they were like- “Oh my God, she sucks at singing.” But Victoria Azarenka told them that she is not a singer, she just wanted to sing Happy Birthday for her friend. “So I was like shut up,” Azarenka.

However, this isn’t the first time that the tennis world has been witnessing the camaraderie between these two tennis stars. In 2021, Elina Svitolina posted a video with her husband, Gael Monfils captioning “Just us” on her social media accounts. In the video, the tennis couple were seen excitedly washing their face, brushing their teeth, drawing curtains, and jumping on their bed together before hitting the bed at 9 pm. After seeing this post Azarenka poured in her love for the couple. She wrote, “My Favs” in the captions while reposting the video from her Twitter account.

In 2018, Gael Monfils was seen backing his ‘best friend’ Victoria Azarenka in her custody battle over her son Leo, with her former partner Billy McKeague. And, here’s what the Frenchman had said about his friend that time.

Gael Monfils says Azarenka is a “strong, fighting girl” who never gives up on anything

During an interview, Monfils revealed that it was very difficult for him to speak about what Azrenka was going through in her life at the moment. He didn’t know how to speak about it.

Gael Monfils said, “It’s a very sad situation that sees one of my best friends [being] involved. I feel very nervous [about] this. She is a great, incredible mother. She was always at the top in her career.” He assured all her fans that Victoria Azarenka is fighting and she is a happy person.
