Roger Federer is one individual who broke many hearts with his retirement last year. The former number one’s presence at Wimbledon was always something everyone awaited. However, he has not visited the tournament since the Covid pandemic wreaked havoc. But the time is finally upon us and Federer will return to Wimbledon this year.

Another personality who is nostalgic for Wimbledon is Serena Williams. She played in two finals in 2018 and in 2019. But post Covid, Williams was out of round 1, in 2021 and 2022, and then she eventually quit. Unlike Federer, Williams will not appear in this year’s Wimbledon. But the reason is not daunting.

Roger Federer finally returns to the Wimbledon

After the heartbreak fans suffered in 2019 when they watched Federer lose to Novak Djokovic, everyone anticipated a return and a 21st grand slam. While the 2021 Wimbledon was promising, he lost his first match at the grass slam in straight sets in nineteen years. Since then, he did not participate in any singles tournaments and missed SW19 in 2022.
