Power couple Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils are looking forward to celebrating their first Christmas as wife and husband. For this, the Frenchman even promised to take Svitolina to the X-mas market. But did Monfils keep his promise? Funnily enough, the Ukrainian tennis star revealed what happened on her Instagram.

Notably, both Svitolina and Monfils love to make videos to entertain their many fans. Sometimes it’s the two dancing on a Christmas song or dubbing on a hilarious dialogue. Earlier, Svitolina even took a dig on Monfils, showing the side of her life with a “gamer husband.” And now, it’s about the X-mas tree and the husband’s promise.

In the new Instagram video, the WTA World No.15 got ready at six in the morning as Monfils promised to take her to the X-Mas market. Hilariously, Svitolina wears her jacket and her hat and waits on her sleeping husband. She captioned the video, “Promises must be kept,” with an emotional emoji.

What’s more, former ATP World No.6 commented on this video. He put up two laughing and two heart emojis. Most likely, the two will go on a later time to set up their Christmas decorations.

Indeed, it would be a special occasion for the two as it’s their Christmas as married couples. The duo got married recently in July, 18 weeks ago.

Most significantly, Svitolina and Monfils are two of the most delightful personalities on the tennis tours. They will aim for a rehabilitating holiday season before they return to practice again later.

Svitolina and Monfils’ 2021 tennis season

First and foremost, Svitolina had a satisfying 2021 season in WTA but again missed out on her maiden Grand Slam. Mainly, she reached the quarterfinals at the US Open. Hence, she will try to end the long wait in the coming season.

On the other side, Monfils began his 2021 campaign on the ATP Tour with a series of upsets. But he picked up his performance in the latter part of the season and will hope to build on that next year.

Above all, both Svitolina and Monfils have enormous tennis talents and will try to cash in on them in 2022. Off-the-court, the couple will continue to make happy memories.
