Wimbledon is globally considered to be the pinnacle of tennis owing to its rich history. However, Wimbledon’s social media game has been really questionable of late. Earlier this month, fans of the Serbian tennis legend, Novak Djokovic, lambasted the All England Club for ignoring their 7-time champion in their promo video. It looks like they have not learned their lessons. A recent tweet from the official Wimbledon account has stirred up controversy in the tennis fraternity and the fans were certainly not happy by the looks of it.

Putting all the women behind men caused real outrage among fans.

Fans asked Wimbledon to put some respect on the women.

A fan hit the nail on the head with just one tweet pointing out all the shortcomings.

Why Venus and Serena Williams deserved to be in the spotlight of the poster?

The two Williams sisters have a Wimbledon legacy like no other. While Serena Williams has seven singles titles to her name, the elder sister herself has five. The sisters also locked horns against each other in four of those finals in 2002, 2003, 2008 and 2009, which elevates their legacy and the rivalry.
