The last event of this season is at the doorstep. United Cup will pack the year for the Women’s and Men’s tours. The star-studded event will act as host to multiple nations and the highlight of the event will be this year’s winner of two Grand Slams, Rafael Nadal and Iga Swiatek.

While Swiatek will compete under Poland’s banner, Nadal will try to secure the trophy for Spain. Here’s the list of players alongside whom and against whom they will play.

Swiatek and Rafael Nadal are all set to play in the United Cup

The WTA no.1 will collaborate with World No.11  Hubert Hurkacz for representing second-seeded Poland. Whereas the 22 times Grand Slam champion will join hands with former World No.2 Paula Badosa to fly the flag of Spain. Further, America will send world no.3 Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, Indian Wells champion Taylor Fritz and the US Open semifinalists Frances Tiafoe.

The duo of World no.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari, which brought Greece its first Hopman Cup, will take the lead of the nation in this event as well. Nick Kyrgios, Ajla Tomljanovic, and Alex De Minaur will don the green and gold in a quest to keep the trophy at home.

Also, the German ace Alexander Zverev will make a debut after his gruesome foot injury and the French Open/ US Open runner-up Casper Ruud will be Norway’s flag bearer. The 23 million event will commence on 29th December and name its victor 8th January. It will be held in Brisbane, Perth, and Sydney.

What’s happening in tennis right now?

The WTA recently finished the Texas-based WTA Finals with the Cincinnati Masters champion Carolin Gracia as the winner and Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka as the runner-up. The ATP just packed the Paris Masters and will soon host the Turin-based Nitto ATP Finals.

The tournament will have the 21 times Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, ATP no.1 Carlos Alcaraz, and his idol Rafael Nadal. Although there is an ongoing debate about the Serb’s presence in the tournament, as of now he will play his 15th ATP Finals. The event will be held from November 13th to November 20th.
