Many sporting greats usually donate some of their equipment and jerseys used in famous matches and memorable moments. These donations draw a large amount of money in auctions. The privileged sports fans are more than willing to pay hefty sums for ownership of such memorabilia. One of those players whose equipment generally draws great amounts is Rafael Nadal.

Additionally, the auction will include equipment used by other tennis legends. The list includes Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and John McEnroe.

The auction will be held on November 4th at Ansorena, which is an auction house in Madrid. The proceeds from the auction will be used to help kids who face the risk of social exclusion. The Real Madrid Foundation is said to help such children.

Who else is helping the cause along with Rafael Nadal?

Along with tennis champions, equipment used by greats from other sports will also be auctioned. This includes the likes of Brazilian soccer legend Pele and David Beckham, who is a Real Madrid great.

Basketball legend Larry Bird’s jersey, F1 legend Fernando Alonso’s jumpsuit, and Magnus Carlsen’s chess set will also be on the list.

Nadal has expressed how much the worldwide effect of coronavirus has emotionally impacted him. During the lockdown, he donated one of his t-shirts from the French Open 2019 campaign, for an auction.

I don’t know if it was with this polo that I finished the match. But it is one of the four or five that is a t-shirt that means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy it and that the bids will be as high as possible. To raise as much money as possible for all those people who are suffering and who need our support, “Nadal said of his contribution.

Nadal and his tennis compatriots have often helped those in need with such contributions.
