‘Really Well Written’ – Naomi Osaka Thanks Roger Federer for His Inspiration After He Retires From Tennis

The tennis world went into shock after the legendary Swiss player Roger Federer announced his retirement from professional tennis. Through an audio message on social media, Federer announced the news.

Notably, many tennis players took to social media and expressed their feelings about Federer’s retirement news. The 4-time Grand Slam champion, Naomi Osaka also reacted, as she called the Swiss Maestro an inspiration.

Naomi Osaka reacts after Roger Federer announced his retirement

Earlier, Osaka took to Instagram and posted a story where she shared Federer’s retirement post. In that story, the Japanese player wrote, Really well written. Thank you for inspiring so many.

Notably, Federer shared two posts on his Instagram, and in one of the posts, he shared an audio message. In another post, he wrote down his words in a couple of pages.

In the past, Osaka revealed that Serena Williams and Roger Federer were her favorite players and she wanted to be like them one day. Notably, in the 2017 Hopman Cup, Naomi Osaka played against Federer in the mixed doubles event.

Osaka told a funny story about knocking out Federer

During an interview with the WTA in 2018, Osaka said, “I saw Federer twice yesterday and I feel like I almost knocked him out because I was running in the hallway.”

Notably, in that same interview, Osaka showed great admiration for Federer, Serena, and Venus and felt grateful to play in their era before their retirement.

Meanwhile, after Federer announced his retirement from tennis, the whole world is reacting to the news, not only the tennis world. Many former tennis players, including Billie Jean King and Martina Navratilova hailed the Swiss superstar for an amazing career.

In terms of current tennis players, Stan Wawrinka, Carlos Alcaraz, Jessica Pegula, Garbine Muguruza, and others showed sadness about the retirement news but hailed him as the GOAT. Federer’s biggest rival and close friend, Rafael Nadal, wrote a long and meaningful message on social media praising the great champion from Switzerland.

Although Federer announced his retirement from professional tennis, he did say that he will take part in tournaments in the future except for Grand Slam tournaments and other tour-level matches.
