Tradition and history make the Wimbledon Championships, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the tennis world. The official rules of the event say players should wear, ‘suitable tennis attire that is almost entirely white.’ But in AO? Well, there is no such rule. But seeing Iga Swiatek in all white at the AO recently has raised the eyebrows of several tennis fans.

Iga Swiatek appeared in On’s all-white attire in her recent match at the first round of the AO. In the brand’s defense, white seemed a better alternative to escape the scorching Melbourne heat. Fans thought otherwise, they recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize Roger Federer‘s On.

Iga Swiatek defeated the 2020 AO champion, Sofia Kenin emphatically by 7-6(2),6-2 at the Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday. The 25-year-old American started off well after battling with injuries, illness, and off-court issues over the past few years. But Kenin couldn’t hold it for too long as the world number one, thumped her authority on the match in the second set.

“Really happy, it’s not easy to play the first round, especially in the first Grand Slam of the season. I tried to find my rhythm, play the important points well in the opening set. I felt off in terms of the timing. For sure the temperature was higher than any match I’ve played here. And I needed to adjust as the balls were flying in these conditions,” Swiatek said on the courtside interview after the match.
