He once coached tennis stars like Venus and Serena Williams and Andy Roddick. And the rising star shares a similarity with these legends. They were all once a part of Rick Macci’s tennis academy.

Macci has nurtured some huge tennis stars, who have taken over the tennis world with their exceptional skills and dedication. And the 22-year-old is following in the same footsteps that gave tennis some greatest sportspersons of all time.

The 23-time Grand Slam Champion’s former coach took to his Twitter account to reveal an interesting thing regarding the rising tennis star. The American tennis coach boasted the amazing news that the 22-year-old was a part of the Macci tennis academy.

The former tennis player shared two pictures of the 22-year-old tennis player; one from the present and one was a throwback picture from when she was a student at his academy. Along with that, he captioned, “10-year-old Alycia Parks learning the serve with Coach Rick Macci🏆 Venus – Serena – Roddick & now Parks .. all have one thing in common childhood Coach Rick Macci.”

And to further back up his claim, he shared a YouTube clip in which the tennis pro’s 10-year-old alter ego could be seen learning how to execute a flawless serve from the 68-year-old coach. The World No 51 won her first WTA title last night and scripted history. However, after winning her maiden WTA title, she also has one more thing in common with the American tennis icon.

Parks and Williams share an odd similarity

When the American sensation won her maiden WTA title, she drew a huge comparison to the 23-time Grand Slam champion. In the past, the American tennis legend won her first singles match at a competition held indoors in Paris, France. Likewise, Parks shared a commonality with her tennis idol by winning her maiden championship in Lyon, France.
