The ex-coach of Serena Williams is once again in the mix of things. Mouratoglou was a part of Serena Williams’ team for close to ten years. Aside from coaching the ‘Queen of Tennis’, he has also coached top-ranked players like Stefanos Tsitsipas, Simona Halep, Coco Gauff, and now the young Dane Holger Rune. The 53-year-old is often found showcasing his skills in his academy and recently he has mastered the toughest shot of all.

Mouratoglou nails Roger Federer’s signature shot
The tweener or between-the-legs shot is arguably the toughest shot to master in tennis. Many have tried, but only a few have succeeded. Roger Federer‘s repetitive excellence while playing the tweener made the shot popular. Recently, Mouratoglou posted a clip on Instagram of him playing doubles tennis.
During the match, he nailed the tweener shot and celebrated jubilantly. His caption read, ” POV: You finally hit your tweener after 12784 attempts ”

Mouratoglou’s reaction said it all. Apparently, he had attempted the shot on multiple occasions but only managed to succeed now. Patrick Mouratoglou, taking several attempts to succeed at the tweener, just explains how difficult the stroke is.
Despite reserving great praise for the Swiss Maestro, Mouratoglou has always been diplomatic in his answers when it came to giving his pick in the men’s GOAT debate. But, it is a completely different scenario in tennis. He always places his former student and 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams, above all in the GOAT debate.

Mouratoglou considers Serena Williams the greatest ever
Despite splitting ways after her 2021 Wimbledon mishap, the French coach’s opinion of Williams did not change. He considers her to be the greatest tennis player of all time and has mentioned it on Twitter several times. Williams won 10 of her 23 major titles during her stint with the French coach. She also completed her Serena slam (Wimbledon 2012- Roland Garros 2013) right after pairing up with Mouratoglou.

His opinion on men’s tennis has in fact been volatile, but Novak Djokovic’s 23rd grand slam title at this year’s Roland Garros has probably ended that side of the debate for Mouratoglou.
