Every tennis fan is still waiting anxiously for Naomi Osaka, the Japanese tennis star, to make an incredible comeback following her recent break from the sport due to her pregnancy. A comeback that is expected to be stronger than her previous return to the tennis court following her mental health struggles. A section of tennis fans has questioned her commitment to the game due to her lackluster performances since coming back from her first break. Safe to say, for the next comeback, Osaka is under immense pressure to put on stunning displays to prove her doubters wrong.

Andy Roddick shared his opinion on Naomi Osaka and her potential comeback

In a recent interview with the Tennis Channel, the 40-year-old tennis veteran discussed the four-time Grand Slam Champion’s possible comeback.

A few months back in January, the Japanese tennis player announced that she would miss the entire 2023 season as she is all set to welcome her first child into the world.  Roddick believes that she has already achieved a lot in her tennis career. He further stated that Osaka is “a 1st ballot Hall of Famer” even if she doesn’t play another tennis match ever in her life.

He said, “She’s such a gift to the game. We want her to enjoy this next process of life. If she does come back, fantastic. If she never plays another point for the rest of her life, she’s a 1st ballot Hall of Famer & won Slams. That’s never getting taken away”

Interestingly, she withdrew from the French Open and other subequent tournaments in 2021 owing to mental health issues and returned last year. But, unfortunately, the tennis star had been struggling with her form ever since.

However, fans are eagerly waiting to see if motherhood would have a significant impact on her performances if she does manage to make a return. On top of that, the Osaka loyalists and the larger tennis community want more Grand Slams from her.
