Even the 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams, and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, have hinted at their favorite for the final. 

The Serbian tennis player is on for his 10th Grand Slam championship and is eying to equal Rafael Nadal‘s record. However, on the other hand, the 24-year-old Greek star is ready to play for his maiden Grand Slam title.

The American tennis legend shares a great bond with the 21-time Grand Slam champion, both on and off the tennis court. However, this time the tennis legend has picked the young rising sensation to win against him. Yesterday, after Tsitsipas won the semi-final and made his way into the final, he took to his Instagram account, to thank his fans for their support as he is ready to play the finals against one of the best tennis players in the world. He captioned the pictures, “I am because we are.” 

On which, the 23-time Grand Slam champion commented, “👏👏👏👏👏👏👏” applauding the tennis sensation. And even her tech-genius husband also commented on the same post, “💪” with emoji that represents strength.

However, it feels like, the former world number one and her Reddit co-founder husband, both have given a clear hint about who they are supporting in tomorrow’s Australian Open final. But the question is why is the American tennis player not supporting her old friend the Serbian tennis star? 

Not only that, the greek tennis sensation, is a huge fan of the 23-time Grand Slam champion and there was a time when he heaped praise on the tennis legend. 

When Tsitsipas called Williams a ‘sweetheart’

The former world number one is not a new face to the 24-year-old tennis player. Back in the days when the tennis ace was active on the circuit, she practiced a lot with rising tennis sensations, including the 2023 Australian Open finalist.

In an Instagram question-and-answer session, he talked about the former tennis legend and said, “She’s a sweetheart and very charismatic as well. When she walks in a room you can feel her presence, her energy, right there. It’s intense.” In fact, both tennis players once had the same coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, and are on good terms with each other.
