Jimmy Connors is so in love with his wife, Patti Connors, even after 45 years of marriage. The former American tennis star recently shared a loving tribute to his wife on their 45th anniversary, making it even more special. The eight-time Grand Slam champion is lucky that he found love again.

Previously, before getting married to Patti McGuire in 1979, he was in a high-profile relationship with another tennis legend of his era, Chris Evert. However, destiny had different plans for the eight-time Grand Slam champion.

The former tennis legend took to his Twitter account to wish his wife a happy 45th anniversary. And along with that, he shared a very heartwarming tribute to his wife, pointing out how she is bringing continuous changes into his life even after being married for 45 years.

He wrote, “Happy Anniversary @PattiConnors – as another year has passed – we continue to defy the odds— you changed my life 45 years ago- and we are still on a roll — more to come !!!!”

Over the anniversary post, the American Sports reporter for ESPN, Ed Werder, who has known Connors for a good amount of time, congratulated the couple. Werder wrote, “Congrats to both of you!” The former world number one replied to him with a cute message. “Hope you and your are well— and yes- she still puts up with me— I’m a lucky guy,” he tweeted.

However, the tennis star believes that his wife has kept him grounded during his heyday on the tennis court.

Last year, in one of his podcast interviews with the boxing legend Mike Tyson, the 8-time Grand Slam champion talked about managing egos as a star athlete in his time. In that conversation, he opened up about his tennis days when he was ruling the courts as an elite tennis player. There was a time when he thought of himself as one of the greats.
