Holger Rune wins over the one whose words matter!

Recently, Holger was asked to make a tricky choice between winning a Grand Slam or being the world No.1. Ideally, he’d take both options but here he was supposed to make a choice. The 20-year-old sided with the former and believed that winning a Slam is the highest level of achievement in tennis. Stefanos Tsitsipas was asked the same question, and he preferred the ranking achievement.

Tennis influencer, Rachel Stuhlmann, dubbed as World’s No. 1 Tennis influencer, was impressed by Rune’s words and took to her Twitter to laud him. She said, “I like this, and I like that he said this. When it comes to the mental part of the game, Holger is built different. Whether people want to hear it or not, he’s going to be at the top (if he stays healthy) for a very long time.

Holger Rune’s coach Patrick Mouratoglou, famous for being Serena Williams‘ long-term coach, had similarly hailed his mindset in the past.

When Patrick Mouratoglou lauded Rune’s belief!

Aside from exceptional racket skills, the ability to believe in one’s self is important for a tennis player who is aiming to win a Grand Slam. The French coach, Patrick Jean André Mouratoglou, admitted that Rune owns this trait. Despite going through a losing streak last year, the Dane turned things around by making four consecutive finals. Without self-belief, it would have been completely impossible for him to pull off the feat.
