Ben Shelton applauded Taylor Townsend’s 2024 US Open run

Townsend was a bit more expressive in the 2024 US Open than usual. When she won her mixed doubles quarterfinal match, she replied to some of the hecklers in the crowd. During her mixed doubles match with Donald Young by her side against Hari Heliovaara and Anna Danilia in the quarterfinals, some attendees said something to Townsend. Although she didn’t reply harshly at that time, later in the on-court interview she said, “Shout out to the haters in that corner over there. They’re gone. Where are you? I don’t hear you anymore. It’s okay. It’s okay. No, no, no it’s okay! They’re gone. I don’t hear them anymore.”

At the same event, during her runner-up speech, Townsend showed pride in maintaining her fans’ expectations well. She didn’t stop there and made an IG post highlighting a few moments from her 2024 Flushing Meadows. “My 2024 @usopen was lit .. I hope you guys enjoyed as much as I did,” she wrote. Now, Shelton commented on the post first writing, “U so cold dawg.” expressing his support for Townsend.
