‘This Has Me Sobbing…’- American Tennis Prodigy Coco Gauff Joins Millions of Fans to Witness History Created by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal

The American tennis star, Coco Gauff, has long been inspired by the 20 grand slam title winner, Roger Federer. She has previously stated that she grew up watching the Swiss tennis legend. Gauff even received tennis advice from Federer.

However, she was overwhelmed with emotion when Federer announced his decision to retire from tennis. Recently, the world No. 8, Gauff again became emotional after she saw the two tennis greats, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal crying together after Federer’s farewell match.

A plethora of tennis fans were overcome with emotions when they saw the two GOATs, Nadal and Federer, crying together. The American tennis prodigy, Coco Gauff was also among them. She recently shared an emotional post on her Instagram story. Gauff stated, “this has me sobbing at 2:00am” 

The world No. 8, Gauff stated that she was sobbing in the middle of the night after she saw the emotional moment between the two tennis legends. Nadal and Federer were playing together as a team for the doubles event of the Laver Cup. The doubles game was the farewell match for the Swiss tennis legend, Federer. As a result, Federer and his friend and rival, Nadal were overwhelmed with emotion after the match.

The duo, Nadal, and Federer started the match brilliantly as they won the first set of the match easily. But despite their stunning performance, they were defeated 4-6, 7-6 (2), 11-9 by the American tennis duo, Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe.

For more than a decade, Nadal and Federer’s rivalry has played a pivotal role in the recent evolvement of tennis. As a result, many tennis fans and players like Coco Gauff were brought to tears at the end of their legendary rivalry.

Gauff’s fierce rivalry with Naomi Osaka

The American tennis player, Coco Gauff, and the Japanese tennis player, Naomi Osaka are considered fierce rivals on the tennis court. Gauff has previously compared her rivalry with Osaka to the legendary rivalry of Federer and Nadal.

They previously faced each other at the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic, where Gauff defeated her rival, Osaka. Gauff won the round of 16 match of the tournament, 6-4, 6-4, by defeating Osaka. However, she was knocked out in the quarter-final round against the Spanish tennis player, Paula Badosa. The ferocious rivalry between Gauff and Osaka can be considered another legendary tennis rivalry in the making.
