He was also joined by the WTA star and compatriot Coco Gauff, who used her social media platform to raise awareness about Juneteenth and honor the past.

“Title number 3 for the kid. With that now I’m top ten in the world. Achieving this on Juneteenth. SHEESH….can’t make this up… This game is soo much bigger than me. I do this for the last name not my first. I do this to inspire kids who look like me. I do this for kids who ain’t got a damn thing against all odds but get the last laugh in the end. All I gotta say to y’all if I can do it y’all can as well,” he wrote as he shared images from his memorable victory.

Tiafoe won the 3rd ATP title of his career at the recently concluded Stuttgart Open. He defeated German and home favorite Jan-Lennard Struff 4-6, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (8) after saving one match point in an epic final. This victory was special to him for more reasons than one. This marked the American’s first-ever grass-court title. Along with this, Tiafoe will move into the top 10 of the ATP rankings for the first time in his career with this victory. He will move to the 10th rank, up from 12th.
