After the successful completion of the Wimbledon Championships 2021, it’s time to witness some quality tennis at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The biggest sporting event couldn’t take place last year due to the coronavirus pandemic but will begin in about two weeks in Japan. Intriguingly, World No.1 and Wimbledon 2021 winner Ashleigh Barty will also be representing Australia this time.
It’ll be the first time when Ashleigh Barty will be playing at the Olympics. Interestingly, she will also become the first indigenous Australian tennis player to feature at the Olympic Games.
The Australian Olympic Committee announced their biggest ever tennis squad for the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Even though there were 11 players in the initial list, Nick Kyrgios backed out lately as he believes there are too many restrictions there. As a result, it’ll be John Millman who will be leading the men’s charge in Tokyo because Alex de Minaur recently tested positive for the coronavirus.
