There was a time when the Briton Andy Murray dominated tennis courts around the world. During that period, Murray was ranked World No. 1 in the ATP rankings, as his performances yielded 3 Grand Slam titles. However, the 35-year-old is a shadow of his former self right now and has slipped to a ranking of World No. 57. Despite his fall from grace, Murray hopes that one day, his daughters will become professional tennis players and follow in their father’s footsteps.

Unfortunately, Murray’s pursuit of making tennis players out of his daughters hasn’t gone down very well with daughter Edie. The American tennis legend Chris Evert took to Twitter to poke fun at Murray as she retweeted his mother’s post.

What went wrong for Andy Murray while coaching his daughter?

Murray’s appearance at the 2023 Monte Carlo Masters ended in disappointment as he exited the tournament in the first round. Following his elimination, he also had some harsh words for the ATP. This meant that he would have plenty of free time on his hands before his next ATP Tour appearance. Murray decided to make the most of this free time by coaching Edie, his 5-year-old daughter.

Edie, however, was far from impressed with her father’s coaching ability. She was particularly annoyed with the fact that Murray stood a bit too close to her during her training session. As a result, she wrote a note to her father, which read, “Dear dady I am not going to play tennis for a while. Lots of love, Edie”.

Murray’s mother, Judy, posted an image of the note written by little Edie on Twitter. She captioned the post, “Somebody needs the @Miss_Hits programme. Perfect fun starter tennis activities for girls age 5-8.”

The post amused American tennis icon Chris Evert, who retweeted it with a caption that consisted of 5 laughing emojis.
