There was a time in the mid-90s, when Nick Bollettieri and Boris Becker made an Ultimate coach-player duo. However, this year was not a good year for this amazing tennis coach-player duo. Where the tennis world lost the brilliant coach at the age of 91, the German tennis player for some reason was sent to Jail. Subsequently, to recall all their amazing memories in the early training days, let’s take a look at some of the important notes that the American tennis courts took while training one of the biggest tennis sensations of his time.

At one point, Andre Agassi, another tennis great, was also learning at Nick’s academy. He also coached the iconic sister duo, Venus and Serena Williams in their young tennis days.

Recently tennis.com shed some insight from the American tennis coach’s coaching Diaries. In one of them, he clearly talked about how he enjoyed coaching the German tennis player.

In that, the 91-year-old tennis coach wrote about some motivational things for the 55-year-old tennis player and called out their understanding on the tennis court as the best among all of his tennis players. He wrote, “When you step onto the court, there’s nothing else in the world, except for its 7,200 feet. You own every foot of that court! Yes, you can have one or two big shots, but you must also develop the rest of your game. By doing this, you will be able to hit your big shots more often.”

Further he also talked about how the six-time Grand Slam champion was a genuine person and would never argue with him over any of his decisions.“Lastly, Becker and I as a team never discussed court strategy until just before he walked onto the court. He would nod his head and ask me for one simple tip! He was fantastic not only as a player, but also as a very generous man!” added the tennis coach.

Nick admired Becker 

The German tennis star had his eye on the Bollettieri academy for a long time when he first enrolled there in the middle of the 1990s. In his early years, the American coach who previously coached Andre Agassi pushed Becker hard and referred to him as a champion.

However, the 91-year-old tennis coach thought at the time that the young man was a very good kid and did not need coaching. Furthermore, the six-time major champion has established himself on the tennis court and is not dependent on him in any way.
