Former world no.1, Venus Williams has been one of the legends of women’s tennis. The American player has won seven Grand Slam titles, including five Wimbledon championships, which is truly an incredible feat. Apart from being a tennis player, she is also a great advocate for health and fitness.
Often, we see Venus posts various pictures of her on social media. Recently, she posted pictures of her sister, Serena Williams, looking glamorous. However, she also posted a tennis video of an incredible shot from Indian Wells last year. She was in awe of that shot as she reacted to it.

Grigor Dimitrov was one of the most talented players on the tour. Especially, his one-handed backhand is a thing of beauty. Because of that, many people even compared him with Roger Federer and thought he would become the next Federer. Unfortunately, his career did not take off as expected due to injuries and inconsistency.

Last year, at the Indian Wells, Dimitrov reached the semi-final at the Indian Wells where he lost to Cameron Norrie. Before that, in the quarter-final, the Belarusian player defeated Hubert Hurkacz in an incredible match. Both the players played some incredible shots in that match.

Particularly one shot was truly remarkable, even Venus Williams reacted to it on Instagram. The 7-time Grand Slam winner could not believe the shot Dimitrov played. The match was one set all and in the third set, when the score was 30-40 in favor of Hurkacz, Dimitrov played an incredible volley near the net while doing the splits. Eventually, Dimitrov won the match by 3-6,6-4,7-6. 

Tennis TV recently shared the video of that shot, as Indian Wells is around the corner. Currently, all the players are preparing well for the Sunshine Double.

Is 2022 going to be the last year for Venus?

Venus last played in August 2021, in Chicago, where she lost. Since then, she hasn’t played a single match, as time is not on her side. At the moment, Venus is 41-years old and currently enjoying her time off the court. 

She recently enjoyed the success of the movie ‘King Richard’, a movie about their father, Richard Williams. Despite all that, her love for tennis remains, as she posted that video on her Instagram story. Right now, we are unsure about her return match or tournament. However, she recently hinted that she will be back very soon playing on the tour.
