Venus Williams’ Nice Gesture Toward Novak Djokovic’s Kids at Wimbledon Championships 2022

Yesterday, the no.1 seed Novak Djokovic had a successful start to his Wimbledon Championships 2022 campaign. In the first round, he beat the South Korean player Kwon Soon-woo in four sets to send a message to the rest of the draw. 

Meanwhile, another legend, Venus Williams, also announced her return to the tennis court as she received a wild card entry to Wimbledon’s mixed doubles tournament. Interestingly, she was spending some quality time with 20-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic and his kids.

Novak Djokovic and his kids had a lovely moment with Venus Williams

During a recent practice session, Venus Williams took the time to sign a few autographs for Novak Djokovic‘s children, Stefan Djokovic and Tara Djokovic. Indeed, it was a lovely moment for the kids and Djokovic’s family, as the American legend and one of the most successful players at Wimbledon with five singles titles took time out of her busy schedule for the children.

Later, Djokovic’s whole family, including his wife Jelena Djokovic, posed for a photo with Venus.

On the other hand, Djokovic’s kids have been supporting him throughout this season. Earlier at the Serbian Open, the Serb’s entire family attended the final match where he was playing. Even though he lost the final to Andrey Rublev, the kids were getting animated after their father’s every point.

Yesterday, Djokovic won the first-round match against Soon-woo in 2 hours and 27 minutes; the final score was 6-3,3-6,6-3,6-4. In the second round, he will play the Australian tennis star Thanasi Kokkinakis. 

Venus to play mixed doubles with Jamie Murray at Wimbledon Championships 2022

Meanwhile, Venus earlier announced that she will team up with Andy Murray‘s brother Jamie Murray to play in mixed doubles this year. Before the start of the tournament, Venus announced the sad news of not participating in this year’s Wimbledon, one of her favorite tournaments. Also, she talked about cheering for her sister, Serena, from the sidelines.

However, she made a u-turn and decided to accept the wild card at the last minute. Along with her, Jamie Murray also accepted the proposal of playing with the legend. In terms of their record in mixed doubles, Murray won five mixed doubles titles and Venus won two at a Grand Slam level. On 29th June, the mixed doubles draw will take place and the matches will start on the 30th.
