Do you know that Venus and Serena Williams learned to deal with media and the press when they were young? Yes, you read it right. Recently, their childhood coach Rick Macci recalled that part of their childhood as he went down memory lane.

Macci is the first coach to train the Williams sister duo since they relocated to Florida. They moved just to get the proper tennis training from the American tennis coach and thus achieve great heights in the future. They spent their early childhood learning tennis at Macci’s tennis academy.

Rick Macci recalls Williams’ sister’s first interview lesson

The 68-year-old American tennis player recently took to his Twitter account to share an old memory. He reminisced about the way King Richard set up mock interviews for his daughters. This way, he prepared them to face every situation, on and off the tennis court.

He wrote, “The best drill @serenawilliams and @venusewilliams ever did with me was doing interviews at age 12 and 13 with Richard in my office with his broken Compton tripod and cracked camera ask questions of how NOT to REALLY answer the question. Love this guy.”

In addition to that, he also revealed that this is one of the best memories of the Williams as an off-court learning part where they literally taught the girls how to face the media and dodge questions for their own good.

However, the former tennis player always believed in the iconic Williams sisters duo and saw their success on the tennis court coming. As a part of the same series, where he admired the Williams’ father and his best friend. He also shared his best memory of on-court training that happened when the tennis legend was only 10 years old.

Serena Williams’ former coach recalled an old coaching incident 

A few days back, the Hall of Fame tennis player looked back at the time when he coached the then 10-year-old American tennis legend during the early morning hours. When there were no lights covering the dark court.
