Andy Roddick engaged in an unsettled debate with a fan

It all started with a fan calling Roddick “lazy and uninformed” when the former world number 1 admitted to not being aware of Veronika Kudermetova having a sister, Polina Kudermetova, on Tennis Channel. Roddick felt the need to defend himself there and said, “Nope. There are lots of people ranked outside of the top 140 that we don’t see until they progress to top levels. This isn’t a matter of being lazy or sexist ……. There’s always a first time seeing a new player. Always.”.

Things started to get ugly when a Roddick fan showed her disappointment in the American’s ignorance and Roddick did not help himself by stretching it further.
