The recent ban on Russian and Belarusian players from participating at this year’s Wimbledon has caused a massive controversy among the players. Now, another Ukrainian tennis star, Lesia Tsurenko, called out all the Russian tennis players, particularly, Andrey Rublev for ignoring this current scenario.?

Recently, the Russian tennis player, Andrey Rublev, gave his opinion about the recent ban of Russian players from Wimbledon. According to him, the ban is illogical and discriminatory. In response to that, 32-year-old Ukrainian tennis player, Lesia Tsurenko blasted the Russian for his comments about the banning of Russian players at Wimbledon.?

Other players react to the ban on Russian players?

Current world No.1, Novak Djokovic didn?t quite agree with Wimbledon?s decision. According to him, politics should not interfere with sports. Also, former Ukrainian tennis player Alexandr Dolgopolov slammed the Russian tennis star Rublev for suggesting donating the prize money.?

Meanwhile, ATP and WTA released a statement that showed their displeasure about the banning of Russian and Belarusian tennis players. According to them, players should participate in tournaments solely based on their rankings. However, Wimbledon didn’t particularly follow this particular rule. Moreover, ATP and WTA have made up their mind about letting all the Russians and Belarusians play in other tournaments as neutral athletes.
