Every player in the vast world of tennis adds their own flair to the court. Despite this diversity, some traits can bring athletes from various backgrounds together. The well-known Serena Williams ex-coach Patrick Mouratoglou, has shared an intriguing look at the tennis personalities of young players Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune, and Coco Gauff. For Patrick it’s all “natural”.

Recently, the 53-year-old legendary coach, in a conversation with Rachel Stuhlmann, opened up about the drive and hunger that get tennis players where they are. Alongside, he also highlighted a similar trait among a few of his trained tennis players. “Some people are natural athletes, some people are not,” said Serena Williams’ ex-coach.
In addition to their innate athleticism, Mouratoglou emphasized the importance of having the proper body type for tennis. “The body is very important because it’s a sport, and if you look at all the top players they have the same body type,” Patrick added.

Patrick Mouratoglou went deeper into the similarities between Greek tennis phenom Stefanos Tsitsipas, rising star Coco Gauff, and 20-year-old Holger Rune. Highlighting one of the main similarities: athleticism, he added, “They’re very athletic but they’re very thin… So, all the guys that have scouted young like Coco for example, or Stefanos or Holger they had this also athletic side that was very natural.”
It won’t be wrong to say that Rune, Gauff, and Tsitsipas are clearly endowed with this crucial quality, which adds to their skill on the court. Subsequently, apart from being quite athletic and fit, which are two of the important qualities to be a part of any sport, the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s coach emphasized that competitiveness is very important to survive on the court.

Moreover, nearly a month ago, the former American tennis pro, Pam Shriver, was left impressed with the Gauff’s amazing competitiveness.

Just before the Indian Wells, the former WTA World No. 3 revealed how Gauff playing under any circumstances never leaves the opportunity to be competitive. She stated, “The one thing I’m always impressed with, no matter how she’s playing, she rolls up her sleeves and is willing to get in the trenches. You only do that if you’re a natural competitor.”
Along with that, while talking about the strength of the 20-year-old, she also highlighted the mental game and the court speed she carries, making her gain better and better. She underlined the importance of Gauff’s defensive prowess and upbeat attitude in winning matches even when she isn’t performing at her best.
