Kazakhstani tennis star, Elena Rybakina, has been in red-hot form this year. She has already featured in some of the crucial matches this season. And now she has added yet another record beside her name. The world number 4 was recently named as the player with the most number of aces this season. She has left behind Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff, and many others to occupy the top spot on the list. But guess who helped him to create this new record?

Well, Australian tennis superstar Nick Kyrgios recently hinted about helping the former world number 3 to battle out her serving woes. What did Nick Kyrgios say about his contributions to Rybakina’s historic feat?

Did Nick Kyrgios really help Elena Rybakina topple the likes of Naomi Osaka and several others to become the new Ace Leader on the WTA Tour? He recently shared this post on his Twitter account and wrote, “Someone was giving her tips on LA….. apparently his serve is a rocket.” Well, for those who are unaware, as per several reports, Elena Rybakina has hit a staggering 181 aces in her 26 matches so far this season. That means she has been hitting an average of just under 7 aces per match this season. A report was published a few days earlier which said that Rybakina has hit a total of 99 aces in the WTA 1000 events out of which 53 came at the Miami Open itself.

In the list, the former world no.1 Karolina Pliskova is seen at the second spot with 157 aces in just 18 matches. Third in the list is Caroline Garcia (123). While Japanese tennis star, Naomi Osaka occupies the fourth spot with 107 aces so far this season. Osaka is leveled with Chinese tennis player, Qinwen Zheng who has also hit the same number of aces this season. Whereas, Coco Gauff has only managed to hit only 93 aces this season.

Just a few days ago in the SF of the Miami Open, Elena Rybakina revealed that she didn’t serve well in that match. Although she managed to win that match against Victoria Azarenka, her serve was her major concern from that match. But now the question is, did Nick Kyrgios help Rybakina topple one of his best friends from the WTA? Naomi Osaka once said that Nick Kyrgios is, “Like my brother like we kind of look the same to me.” In fact, Nick Kyrgios came to the rescue many times for the Japanese tennis star.

Just a few months ago the Australian tennis heartthrob was seen helping Naomi Osaka with some helpful tips to improve her serve ahead of her return after a 15-month-long hiatus. That’s the on-court side of their bonding, but fighting the odds off-the-court brought them even closer. Both tennis stars have faced several backlashes throughout their careers. 

Nick Kyrgios recalled that once Naomi Osaka asked him, “How do you deal with it? Because you know, you’ve had a lot of backlash.” Kyrgios went on to add, “And I think we both just find that common ground. And like a bit we’re so different in when we came into the sport. We were like, the black sheep. And like, and we just really tried to find our way and we had a sea of fans.
