Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has been one of the most followed players by tennis fans. During the past couple of seasons, he has developed a habit of picking on World No. 1 Novak Djokovic

Nick Kyrgios continues nudging Novak Djokovic 

Recently, the Australian ace was involved in an interview in which the topic of the Serb came up. Kyrgios jokingly talked about partnering with Djokovic in the Australian Open 2022 in the men’s doubles. However, he was quick to dismiss the talks and ended the conversation with a slight taunt. 

The 26-year-old player spoke about the World No. 1 player and stated, “Shout out Novak. Australian Open doubles baby? No, I’m kidding bro. I wouldn’t do that to myself.” Throughout the interview however, Kyrgios did show tremendous respect and admiration for the Serb.

In recent times, Nick has picked on Novak for various reasons.

The Australian player was critical of Djokovic partying during the pandemic back in 2020. However, Nole has refrained from commenting on any of these issues. 

Coming on to tennis, Kyrgios has not played much tennis lately. He was last seen at the Laver Cup 2021 after which he returned to Australia as he wasn’t 100% fit. Prior to that, lost in the opening round of the US Open.

On the other hand, Djokovic won the first three Grand Slam events this season. Sadly, he lost the US Open in the final. A couple of weeks ago, he won the Rolex Paris Masters 2021. 

At the moment, he is competing in the ATP Finals. He won his opening group stage match. It will be interesting to see if he can win the title and end the season on a high note.
